Sawlog, Inc. in Forksville, PA was started in 1967 as a pallet manufacturing plant. In 1980 we started manufacturing log home logs and siding. In 2000 we added playground material to our resume. Sawlog is a direct manufacturing company offering new wooden pallets and skids. We manufacture custom pallets, GMA pallets, block and stringer pallets. We also heat treat for overseas shipping. Sawlog is a licensed and approved heat treating facility. We can offer very competitive pricing because we are the manufacturer, no middle man. Having direct communication between the customer and manufacturer is a great asset. We can anticipate your pallet needs, creating quicker service.
Sawlog has it's own scragg mill for the manufacturing of cut pallet lumber. We make most of our own lumber, which helps when lumber supply is short or if you have an odd sized pallet. We strive for quality pallets, reasonable prices and on time deliveries. We also have our own trucks for quick delivery. We deliver to Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Massachusetts.
Our log home operation offers you an economical way of obtaining your dream home or cabin. We are a small family run business, selling to building contractors and do-it-yourself home builders. When you call us you are talking to the owner and manager. We use native white pine logs that we purchase from local sawmills. We air dry our pine for at least a year. We also have kiln drying facilities available. We prefer to air dry to reduce stress on the logs. Our logs are "D" shaped with a single tongue and groove. We offer 6" x 8" logs milled either way. We manufacture 6" and 8" log siding to match our logs. We now manufacture log siding corners for those people who would like their existing home changed into a log house with the use of log siding and log siding corners. We also manufacture 1" v-grooved pine paneling to give your existing home a log cabin feel inside. We carry all the materials necessary to put the logs up: Olylog fasteners, foam insulation, wooden splines, and puttylastic caulking.
Our Kid Wood playground covering is made out of our own mill's wood chips, so it is very clean. Our Kid Wood exceeds the ASTMA standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and is ADA compliant for wheelchair accessibility. Our Kid Wood can significantly decrease the chances of sustaining an injury during the most exciting part of the day for our kids. Kid Wood is fantastic for walk paths, fitness trails, animal exercise rings or arenas. Our walking floor trailers let us unload your wood mulch very close to your equipment.
